visual design, design management, creative research (UK/IE/AUS)
ᴡᴏʀᴋs ᴏғ ᴏɪsɪ́ɴ is the home to my creative practice of visual design and research. Here, I showcase personal highlights from my portfolio of creative commissions and professional service projects.
Over the last eleven years, I am proud to have created a diverse portfolio of graphic design, illustration, and photography. I have worked with restaurants and bars, art galleries, plumbers, bakers, florists, singers, universities, club nights, community organisations and social enterprises. My creative work has featured in international group exhibitions and publications.
In my current role as Creative Media Design Manager at global accountancy and financial services firm BDO LLP, I lead my team to manage and create market-leading visual communication in the areas of digital experiences, videos and podcasts, as well as further creative direction for bids, thought leadership and brand campaigns.
Supporting my professional role, I continue with my personal practice, in which I pursue creative research projects that question our media and visual environment. I continue to welcome creative commissions, particularly for arts and social enterprises.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Visual Communication from LSAD at Limerick Institute of Technology, Limerick, Ireland. Early in my career, I was recognised as one of the Best of Irish Design by the Irish Design Institute, with work selected for their Generation exhibition at the National Craft Gallery in 2009. In 2016, I obtained my Master’s in Media and Communication Studies from Malmö University, Sweden. An extract of my thesis, centred on the representations of migrants in the UK press during coverage of the 2016 EU referendum, has been published in a collection of essays in Reporting the Road to Brexit (Palgrave 2018).
